Samaritan’s Purse, The Disaster Assistance Response Team of the US was setting up an emergency hospital in Naypyidaw, Myanmar on April 8 to provide healthcare to the earthquake-affected people and the hospital could provide medical treatment to 200 patients a day.
The hospital included an emergency unit, an intensive care unit, a laboratory and two operating rooms that can handle dozens of surgeries every day, reported Samaritan's Purse. The statement said that there are currently nearly 100 patients waiting for surgery after suffering fractures from the earthquake.
Samaritan's Purse transported 104 tons of relief supplies on a 747 cargo plane on April 7 to help earthquake victims in Myanmar, including six water filtration units, emergency shelter material, solar lights, and personal hygiene kits, household water filters, blankets, mosquito nets and other supplies.
The United States government has pledged $9 million in aid to help Myanmar earthquake victims.
