On April 5, 2026, the elected President, U Min Aung Hlaing, presented honorary commemorative gifts to individuals who served in the military-led government organizations between 2021 and 2026.

The ceremony was held at the Assembly Hall of the Office of the Chairman of the National Defence and Security Council in Nay Pyi Taw.

During the event, elected President U Min Aung Hlaing stated: "I recognize that you have all strived to the best of your physical and intellectual abilities—with loyalty, honesty, and activity—in the state reconstruction process despite various difficulties. I record and honor your courageous and adventurous actions performed with trust under our leadership. I am grateful for your selfless, unified, and collaborative efforts for the benefit of the nation and the people with a full national spirit during your term of service."

He further added that as the leading head of the administration, he understands and empathizes with the difficulties, dangers, and crises faced during this five-year period. He noted that the ceremony was held to respectfully recognize and record those who performed their duties faithfully, dutifully, and blamelessly with great effort.

The 2025 General Election in Myanmar was held in three phases from December 28, 2025, to January 25, 2026.

Following the election, the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) won nationwide and is currently forming the parliament and the government in collaboration with the Myanmar Military.

Consequently, during the Union Parliament session held on April 3, 2026, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Commander-in-Chief of Defense Services, was elected as President. At the Union Parliament session held on April 6, the formation of over 30 ministries was officially announced.
