The US State Department has issued a statement forbidding the US Embassies in the whole world not to criticize and comment on foreign elections on July 17, 2025.

There are  comments on the statement among the political analysts in Myanmar.

Political analyst Dr. Aung Myo told CNI News that the forbiddance is a good thing for developing countries like Myanmar, and it might also be a change in US foreign policy.

"The forbiddance is very good. The  US President Donald Trump himself had to face defeat in early voting. There were various online votes. He himself suffered in the American system. This is a shift in US foreign policy.  In the past, we had a policy of only taking care of our own internal affairs. We have not abandoned this policy since then. Americans also want to improve their own economy again. The United States should not interfere in other countries' politics. The US President Trump directed the US Embassies not to interfere militarily and politically in other countries' affairs. It's a shift in US policy. It's a good thing for developing countries like Myanmar." he said.

While President Trump was signing an executive order

The US announced on July 24, 2025, that it had removed Myanmar businessmen - U John Nathan Myo Kyaw Thaung, U Aung Hlaing Oo, U Sit Tain Aung, and Daw Tin Latt Min from its sanctions list, two weeks after the SAC Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing sent a letter to President Donald Trump.

The directive to embassies not to comment on the election was a unique development after Donald Trump took office, the National Democratic Force Party (NDF) Vice Chairman U Htet Aung Kyaw told CNI News.

"This time, after Trump came to power, this is a very unusual situation. The United States has always criticized and commented on elections. This time, the US President directed not to do that sort of thing, so the foreign policy of the United States has changed a lot. It's better for our country. Or our elections will be criticized. Now that the US doesn't criticize elections of every country else in the world, this is a good situation for our country." he said.

While seeing the SAC Chairman and political parties

The SAC has said that elections will be held in 267 of the 330 townships in December 2025 and January 2026 and that state power will be transferred to the political party that wins the election.

The people of Myanmar are currently facing disasters such as war, earthquakes, floods, storms, and diseases, as well as facing a decline in social, economic, health, political, and educational levels.
