A total of 506 members of the People’s Defense Force (PDF) have surrendered and "entered the light" at the Mandalay-based Central Command.
Following this, a ceremony was held in Mandalay on March 19, 2026, to officially return those who surrendered to the care of their parents.
Out of the 506 individuals who surrendered, 53 are women. It is reported that 78 firearms and various types of ammunition were also turned in.

The ceremony was attended and led by the Chief Minister of Mandalay Region, U Myo Aung, and the Commander of the Central Command (La-Pa-Kha), Brigadier General Aung Htay.
During the event, support funds were also provided to the returnees.
It is understood that those who surrendered were PDF members from the conflict zones of Mogok, Tagaung, Thabeikkyin, and Taung Kham.
