If a capable and powerful military (Tatmadaw) can be built, no one will be able to disrespect our country, said Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission.

He made these remarks during a meeting with officers, soldiers, and their families at the Mandalay Cantonment of the Central Command on January 26, 2026.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing stated, "If we can build a military with prowess and power, no one can act disrespectfully toward our nation. Therefore, we must continue striving to build a military that is always capable and strong."

He further mentioned that to ensure a powerful military, the Tatmadaw is continuously equipping itself with modern military hardware in line with daily evolving technologies.

Furthermore, he added that to be a powerful force, necessary supplies must be fulfilled. To be a capable force, individual soldiers and units must prioritize physical fitness, combat skills, and bravery. He emphasized the need for constant training to ensure proficiency in handling military tactics and weaponry, and the importance of applying evolving military science and tactics in line with the times.

Currently, clashes are occurring between the Myanmar military and various armed groups across Myanmar. During these conflicts, the Myanmar military has lost control of several towns as well as some Regional Military Commands.

On the other hand, armed groups have moved onto union highways and main roads to conduct inspections. Regarding these situations, the Myanmar military is implementing measures for the rule of law, regional stability, and territorial control.
