Shanni nationalities protested against the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and the Kuki National Army (KNA/KNO) that killed Shanni people. The demonstration was conducted in Homalin Town, Sagaing Region by over 4,000 locals on 27th January 2024.
Shanni nationalities said that their people were arrested and killed by the KIA and the KNA. The KNA killed 37 Shanni people from Thanan Village, Tamu Township in November 2023 and four Shanni people in the village in January 2024.
In the same way, the KIA/PDF joint forces killed Shanni youths, Shanni party members, members of the Shanni Literature and Culture Association including a Shanni monk, said Shanni nationalities.
